Preschool

There is a choice of municipal or private provision. Preschools accept children aged one to six. All children are offered a place at a municipal preschool from the autumn of the year that they turn three years old. Preschool is a distinct form of schooling with teaching based on its own curriculum.

The task of the preschool is to lay the foundations for lifelong learning, offering an environment that stimulates play and learning. It is there to work with parents in promoting the children’s development, and to make it possible for parents to study or work.
