    What role do rescue services play in civil defence during wartime? How can a cooperation between Rescue Services South East and Poltava strengthen preparedness and mutual learning?

    Sweden needs to strengthen its civil defence capabilities. How can international cooperation strengthen resilience in times of crisis? Rescue Services South East works closely with emergency services in Poltava, Ukraine – Kalmar’s twin city. Through exchanges, study visits and donations of equipment, the partnership creates valuable knowledge transfer. For Sweden, this provides unique insight into emergency response under extreme conditions such as war and infrastructure disruption. For Poltava, the situation is highly demanding, with increased pressure, damaged facilities and limited resources while ensuring safety for both personnel and civilians. You will meet the responsible persons for this cooperation and the Swedish Minister for Civil Defence will present his perspective on how cooperation with Ukraine can strengthen preparedness. The panel will also include a minute of silence to honour injured and fallen personnel in rescue and health services.
