    Beskrivning av samhällsfrågan

Europe is facing two major challenges at the same time – a security crisis and a climate crisis. The Baltic Sea is in the middle of this, where large-scale energy production and security aspects must coexist. The need for a common strategy is obvious. How can Europe best deal with the situation now?

    Utökad information om evenemanget

Major energy investments are planned by all democratic countries around the Baltic Sea. It is an important part of Europe's energy transition. This mainly concerns plans for offshore wind power and hydrogen. At the same time, the Baltic Sea is in the most vulnerable security situation since the end of the Second World War. How can these two great needs work together? How do Wind Europe view this? How do we achieve a common strategy for the development of the Baltic Sea that safeguards both these interests? The decisions have been made to make Bornholm the world's first energy island. Can more islands in the Baltic Sea follow, what can we learn from Bornholm? Estonia is planning for large wind farms near Gotland, how does that fit into the picture? We provide an overview of energy trends and security developments in the Baltic Sea.
