AI is rapidly becoming a key driver of economic growth, innovation and competitiveness. At the same time, the demand for compute capacity, digital infrastructure and reliable energy is increasing at an unprecedented pace. Sweden has many of the strengths needed to attract large-scale AI investments, including technical expertise, strong connectivity and access to fossil-free electricity. However, global competition for investment is intensifying, raising important questions about infrastructure development, energy supply, policy frameworks and long-term competitiveness. This discussion explores how Sweden can position itself as a leading destination for AI infrastructure, what role energy and digital infrastructure play in enabling growth, and how the eco system of actors can work together to strengthen Sweden's role in the European AI ecosystem.
