War creates psychological experiences that are often difficult to express through policy language alone. How can art help translate complex and invisible aspects of war, trauma and resilience into a public conversation?

The psychological realities of war are often difficult to communicate through traditional policy discussions. Experiences such as trauma, recovery and resilience are complex and deeply human, yet they remain largely invisible within public and political discourse. This event explores how art can function as a communication tool for translating these experiences into forms that can be understood, felt and reflected upon by a wider audience. The installation presented within the Repower space transforms the invisible psychological pressure of war into a tangible public experience. By engaging with artistic expression, visitors are invited not only to observe but to reflect on the human dimension of war and recovery. Drawing on Ukraine’s experience, the event demonstrates how art can open new forms of dialogue between civil society, policymakers and defence actors.
