What can those who risk their lives to protect others tell us about the strength and fragility of life? Ukrainian veterans are civilians who left their jobs and way of life to defend their families - how can were use their existential experiences in an identity of "Defenders of Europe"?
Utökad information om evenemanget
Ukrainian veterans are civilians who left their jobs and way of life to defend their families. Among them are many artists, teachers, and activists who, having become participants in the most modern war for freedom, may come to understand something new about the essence of being human. They want to write about their extreme existential experience in order to give readers around the world an opportunity to become better people. When veterans have the chance to express themselves, their experience can become a shared asset rather than a personal trauma. What can those who risk their lives every day to protect others tell us about the strength and fragility of life? What opportunities does art-rehabilitation through literature offer for veterans? How does cooperation with veterans from Scandinavian countries shape the identity of “Defenders of Europe”? How can honest words and friendly dialogue counter russian propaganda? What opportunities does a European veterans’ network provide?
