Across Europe, young people are stepping into a world shaped by rapid change — from shifting democracies to digital disruption, climate anxiety and new geopolitical realities.

Part 1: Tech giants’ investments in AI represent the largest infrastructure shift in modern history. These developments are reshaping our societies, labour markets and information flows — and, ultimately, our democracies. Today, a handful of global actors make decisions that affect us all, yet without democratic oversight. The question is unavoidable: how can citizens influence a future that is being built by others? This event takes an independent look at AI as a democratic and society defining issue. In an open conversation, representatives from politics, the tech sector and civil society explore who is currently setting the rules for AI, how Sweden and Europe can reclaim democratic agency, and what we should expect from our elected leaders before it is too late. The audience is invited to take an active part in the discussion. PART 2: Discussion Diversity of Democracy in Almedalen has offered clear, strong impressions and knowledge of AI for youth.
