The global transition to a low-carbon economy requires unprecedented innovation, coordination and speed. Artificial intelligence is increasingly being applied to optimise energy systems, improve climate modelling, accelerate scientific discovery and enable more efficient industrial processes. At the same time, the rapid expansion of AI infrastructure raises concerns about energy demand and environmental impact. This seminar of Engaging India at Almedalen examines whether AI can meaningfully accelerate the green transition. The conversation between innovators, industry, startups, policy and academia from Sweden & India will explore both the promise and the limits of AI in addressing climate change, and how innovation, policy and collaboration can ensure that AI contributes to a sustainable planetary future. Format: Case studies followed by moderated discussion.
