Utökad information om evenemanget
The Baltic region are facing times of unsecurity and crisis and is exposed to growing geopolitical tensions, once again claiming the Baltic Sea as a stage for international politics. This is mainly discussed as a defence or broader societal challenge without involving experts on ecosystems and the sea. In recent years, aside from geopolitical significance, the Baltic is also known as one of the most environmentally vulnerable seas and its high commercial activity, through heavy shipping traffic and a significant portion of worlds commercial shipping. In addition, the Baltic is still bearing the burden of past political conflicts. - How can ecological restoration, for example rewetting of peatlands and swamps, and other measures be integrated into planning of national and regional resilience? - What actors needs to be involved? - Are there new arenas or platforms needed for taking the next steps? A broad group of actors needs to be part this discussion sharing experiences and ideas.
