Meet the EU Special Representative for Human Rights, who also has a specific responsibility for the EU’s efforts to secure the return of abducted Ukrainian children. The discussion focuses on the extensive violations that have been documented, including the forced transfer and abduction of Ukrainian children from occupied territories. The conversation will explore the legal, political, and humanitarian tools available to facilitate the children’s return to their families and to ensure accountability for these actions. It will also highlight the EU’s role in strengthening support for Ukraine and advancing justice and accountability efforts. The event will be held in the “Hot Seat” format—an open and reflective conversation that gives the audience the opportunity to listen, engage, and ask questions.
