Utökad information om evenemanget
Are we prepared for elections in the AI era? How do we make the best use of AI for our democracies? Artificial intelligence (AI) has the potential to make elections more efficient, inclusive, and secure, but also to disrupt democratic and electoral processes. With the Swedish general elections scheduled for September 2026, understanding how AI affects elections in the Swedish context is critical. In this Almedalen seminar, International IDEA, the Swedish Election Authority, and Microsoft bring together global, national, and technological perspectives on elections, AI, and democracy. The Swedish Election Authority will provide a national perspective on how Sweden is addressing the challenges posed by AI while exploring its potential to strengthen electoral processes. Microsoft contributes to the discussion from the forefront of AI development, and International IDEA shares examples and best practices from working with electoral authorities globally.
