On this panel we will explain how deep russian propaganda and disinformation spread and what impact it has on human lives. Particularly to Ukrainian soldiers that were in captivity and share their experience of being "russified", misinformed, and psychologically influenced. In this powerful and deeply moving panel, recently released Ukrainian prisoners of war visiting Almedalen share their personal testimonies of captivity under Russian detention. Through their voices, we gain rare insight into the human cost of war — the physical, psychological, and emotional toll of being held as a POW. A moment to listen, to honor their resilience, and to stand in solidarity as they reclaim their futures But this conversation goes beyond the experience of imprisonment. The panel also explores the difficult and ongoing journey of reintegration — how these individuals find their way back into society, reconnect with their communities, and begin to rebuild their lives.
